ARMENIA / AZERBAIJAN / EUROVISION : Tensions Persist Over Troubled Region.

http://globalspin.blogs.time.com/2012/03/11/how-armenia-and-azerbaijan-wage-war-through-eurovision/

Oil rich Azerbaijan hosts the 2012 Eurovision contest 22-26 May...spending millions hoping to boost its image.
But...after hopes of reconciliation...its neighbor Armenia has withdrawn from the contest because of continued tensions over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
They fought a war over the region in the 1990s...that killed at least 25,000...and have never signed a peace agreement.
