President Ollanta Humala added his voice to congressional calls that his VP Omar Chehade consider resigning over illegal lobbying charges.
But Humala said he would not fire Chehade (right) before investigations are concluded.
It is alleged that Chehade asked a top police official to help his brother evict workers from a sugar farm for a company that wanted to take it over.
Peru has 2 vice presidents.
