A judge ordered former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko jailed over the weekend for her "disruptive" behavior.
The judge says Tymoshenko has repeatedly violated court rules and impeded proceedings.
Tymoshenko is accused of agreeing to an illegal 10-year contract for Russian gas at an exorbitant price.
She reportedly refused to stand up while addressing the judge, has repeatedly insulted him and questioned his objectivity.
Her supporters have also repeatedly disrupted hearings.
