GUARDIAN
Outfitted in a wetsuit, PM Putin, 58, went diving in southern Russia...where a Greek settlement is being excavated by archaeologists.
And...behold...although in only 7 feet of water...he uncovered two ancient but unmossy Greek jugs neatly buried in the sand.
Now the blogs are to mocking his "discovery"...and his latest heroic posturing.
AND: President Dmitry Medvedev does not want Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to politicize his nation's gas sales.
Ukrainian authorities claim a 2009 gas deal with Russia by then-prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko is "disadvantageous" and want to review the contract's "unfair" price formula.
She is now being tried for signing the agreement...has been jailed for her behavior...and denied release.
Russia says the agreement and price were fair for the time.
Germany has also upbraided Ukraine for her jailing.
