Despite orders not to speak to Chinese or foreign media or tweet for a year...Weiwei has resumed tweeting political messages to his 98,000 followers.
Weiwei said he was resuming because: "I did what I think is necessary and I'll take the consequences. I can't be alive and not express my feelings."
While in custody in China for 81 days... without any information about his status... police grilled artist Ai Weiwei more than 50 times...threatening him with up to 10 years in jail for subversion.
According to a REUTERS source...the police told him: "You criticised the government, so we are going to let all society know that you're an obscene person, you evaded taxes, you have two wives, we want to shame you. We'll not use politics to deal with you."

Perhaps worth noting: This news blog regularly had visitors from Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin and Hong Kong...before linking to news reports about Weiwei's art protests, disappearance and arrest.
Since those links/reports...all those regular visitors except Hong Kong...have disappeared.
