COLOMBIA: A Surging Peso Wilts Flower Exporters.

In the past 12 months, the peso has strengthened by 9% vs the usd and squeezed exporters' margins... especially among flower growers.
Local experts there say...adapt or close shop.

The annual $1 billion usd flower export business has been hurt the most because its costs are 100% in pesos...while sales are only in dollars.

Consolidation is already underway among the 360 flower farms.
