Admiral "Sandy" Woodward, 79, told the TELEGRAPH that new austerity defense cuts mean Britain can now do "precisely nothing" to stop Argentina from retaking the long disputed Falklands/Malvinas islands.
He also believes that the USA would not support Britain in an conflict there.
The USA wants an Argentine "accommodation" for area stability. "This tells us all too clearly which way the wind is blowing."
