BLOOMBERG
President Viktor Yanukovych (above) is publicly toying with the prospect of joining the EU...even as he weighs joining a Russian-led customs union...for its lower nat gas price.
Ukraine is the main transit route for Russian fuel to EU countries and Yanukovych told BLOOMBERG that he wants his price for Russian nat gas cut...by almost 20%...to $240 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Or hello, EU?
“Our main priority is integration into the EU,” Yanukovych said. “We are ready to sign the association agreement this year. We want the prospects of Ukraine entering the EU to be included in this accord so that the accord would not be empty.”
