The Czech government plans to return 368 hectares of territory to compensate Poland for cartographers' errors while redrawing the Czechoslovakia-Polish border in the 1950s.
That's making has some Czech villagers on the land angry...because they will lose land-tax revenue.
"The amount the tax brings in is not inconsiderable," said Radek Haloun, mayor of Horni Rasnice, a village that will become 14 hectares smaller under the plan. "The government assured us that they wouldn't hand land over, but now they've gone ahead and done it."
