EL SALVADOR/ USA: Decorated Ex-General Faces Deportation Over Torture Claims

    General Eugenio Vides Casanova faces deportation from the USA back to El Salvador over torture accusations from 1979-83 when he headed the national guard.
    Vides received a Legion of Merit award from President Ronald Reagan.
    He is is the first foreign military commander to face charges brought by the human rights office of the USA's homeland security.
