COLOMBIA: Bogota's Military Leads Lat-Am Counter-Narco Training.

   Colombia is training the military of Mexico and 13 other Latin American and Caribbean nations much of it funded by U.S. anti-drug aid.
   It also instructs in conducting criminal investigations, processing intelligence and deploying soldiers in jungle warfare.
   "What Colombian pilots know about night missions, flying over difficult terrain, and participating in joint task forces is invaluable to us," said a Mexican pilot.
    Colombia received $7-billion in U.S. aid from Plan Colombia to modernize its military and stop it from becoming a narco state.
