Former prime minister Ivo Sanader has been arrested in Austria. Police stopped him on a motorway in western Austria.
Sanader fled Croatia reportedly for Slovenia as the parliament considers lifting his immunity from prosecution. He is facing a corruption inquiry.
In a surprize move, he quit as prime minister in July of 2009 and in January was expelled from his party. As an independent MP, he has immunity from prosecution.
ALSO... Amnesty International reports that Croatia lacks political will, adequate laws and court procedures to deal with its 1990's war crimes.
