Investigative journalist Vasyl Klymentyev (pictured) disappeared after leaving his home in Kharkiv in August. He was editor-in-chief of Kharkiv's small Novy Stil (New Style) newspaper – known for uncovering scandals about local officials. Critics see his disappearance as another sign of curtailed press freedoms seven months after the election of Viktor Yanukovych. A district court last week stripped two independent opposition television stations, TVi and 5 Kanal, of their licences.
