PERU: Amazon River At Lowest Level In 40 Years.

TELEGRAPH/    Near the city of Iquitos, the Amazon river's level had fallen to 14.4 ft., a level not seen in more than four decades, and is predicted to drop even more. Several boats have been stranded over the past three weeks and shipping companies have suspended service, a big problem in an area that depends on the Amazon for shipping. The level drop has been caused by a lack of rain and high temperatures.
