PARAGUAY: Lugo Paternity Tests Negative; Rebel Leader Killed In Hugua Ñandu.

LAHT/       Three paternity blood tests of a boy whose mother had a relationship with President Fernando Lugo proved negative. “With this third negative sample, the paternity suit is over,” an official declared. Hortensia Moran, the 3-year-old's mother, said she was not surprized by the results. Another paternity suit, brought by Benigna Leguizamon, was settled out of court in December 2009. This year, Lugo also acknowledged his paternity with a 3-year-old boy of another woman in her 20s. Lugo is a former Roman Catholic Bishop and Paraguay's president since 2008.
Police have confirmed the death of EPP rebel Nimio Cardozo, and the wounding of another in the province of Concepcion. They also seized guns, grenades and $1,000 in cash from the small guerrilla camp in the hills near Hugua Ñandu.
