MEXICO: Reporting The Smallest Monarch Butterfly Migration... In 17 Years.
LAHT/ As reported earlier from here in Austin, Texas, this year's Monarch butterfly migration to Mexico was meager. Officials in the Biosphere Reserve in Mexico describe it as the smallest in 17 years, covering 1.92 hectares (about 5 acres) of forest west of the Mexican capital, down from 5.6 hectares (13.83 acres) in 2008-2009.
