ECUADOR: Bus Crash Kills At Least 42.

LAHT/     Sadly, there are so many bus crashes in South America, especially in Peru and Bolivia that this blog has basically stopped posting news links to them. But, until this horrible crash with at least 42 dead, Ecuador has mostly escaped serious bus accidents. The Turismo Oriental bus loaded with 53 people ran off the road near Lake Yambo in the central Andean highlands. The highway was reportedly straight. Police believe the driver fell asleep. He had reportedly been at the wheel for 7 straight hours. He died in the crash.
