PARAGUAY: Advances To Q Beating Japan 5-3.
WashingtonPost/ Severe underdog Paraguay will join 3 other South American nations in the World Cup quarterfinals. It outlasted Japan, 5-3, in a penalty kick tiebreaker after 120 scoreless minutes in front of a half filled stadium. It advances into the Quarterfinals for the first time in its history. Paraguay converted all of its attempts in the third round while Japan failed. Oscar Cardozo clinched the victory for Paraguay, which will face Spain or Portugal on Saturday in Johannesburg.
