VENEZUELA: New Nat Gas Rig Sinks In Caribbean.
BLOOMBERG/ A recently finished natural gas platform in the Caribbean off Venezuela's coast sank but the energy minister says it poses no risk to the environment. All 95 workers were evacuated from the Aban Pearl platform before it sank in the early morning. Last week Energy Minister Rafael Ramirez stood atop the rig on live tv as its gas flare was lit to inaugurate the project. The nation has massive offshore gas reserves, but it has struggled with foreign investment.
