CHILE: Earthquake May Cut GDP Growth by 1.5% Says Ministry.
BLOOMBERG/ Chile’s 2010 economic growth may be reduced by 1.5% due to the massive earthquake said Deputy Finance Minister Rodrigo Alvarez. Chile may have to raise corporate taxes, spend savings and sell debt to pay for rebuild. President Pinera said the total cost from the catastrophe will be about 17% of his nation's GDP.
