ROMANIA: Ceausescu Family Seeks To Register Name As Brand.
AP/GOOGLE NEWS/ The name of former Romanian strongman Nicolae Ceausescu , who had an army of 700,000 secret police informers, stifled dissent, limited travel abroad and rationed basic foods like oil and eggs--that name has been used to sell chocolate, hotel rooms, even condoms. Now, the Ceausescu clan wants to control its use by registering it.
