MERCOPRESS/ An alternative to the OAS, called the Rio Group, was formalized at the recent summit in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The Rio Group will represent all the countries in the Americas including Cuba while excluding the United States and Canada. Colombia reportedly opposed the Group's creation.
