ECUADOR: Oil Exploitation Versus Biodiversity.

LATIMES/     President Rafael Correa recently announced a new plan to preserve the Yasuni reserves but allow for oil exploitation, disappointing environmentalists. He appointed a minister to seek donations from Arab and Asian countries for the 2.4-million-acre Yasuni National Park, one of the world's most biodiverse nature reserves.
