CUBA: U.S. Food Imports Slashed.
AP/MIAMI HERALD/ Cuba's imports of food from the U.S. fell 26 percent in 2009 to $528 million, after hitting $710 million in 2008. An observer says that Cuba has turned to other countries like Vietnam that sell lower-quality foods without asking for immediate payment, some delayed by as much as two years.
