NYTIMES/ Former President Nestor Kirchner underwent emergency surgery to unclog a right carotid artery. Kirchner, 59, is trying a comeback as a congressman, perhaps to succeed his wife, Cristina, the current president. Nestor Kirchner led the nation out of a severe financial crisis in 2000.
