ARGENTINA: Falklands Dispute Exposes Its Non-Existent Oil Exploration.
NYTIMES/ If the British discover sizable oil deposits near Argentina, it will only add to the nation's humiliation as its neighbor Brasil has been exploiting massive oil reserves offshore for the past 3 years. The fact is there are no oil-drilling rigs are operating in Argentina’s waters, because oil companies are wary of working there affter the government nationalized an airline and seized private pension funds. Meanwhile, partially Argentine-owned Repsol YPF has announced it will begin drilling about 200 miles off Argentine coast by December, “well within Argentinean waters."
