PERU: Narco-Terrorists Flourish In Huanta.

GLOBAL POST/ With Photos/
The effects of a growing “narco-Senderismo” can be seen in Huanta, a town near the regional capital of Ayacucho and the commerce center of the coca-growing area. About 150 tons per year of cocaine are exported from Peru making it the second-largest producer after Colombia. But Peruvians seem to be looking the other way. The drug boom in evident but it is less clear what its long-term effects will be on Peru and its people.
