ROMANIA: President Basescu Narrowly Wins Re-election; Fraud Claimed; Stocks Slump.

BLOOMBERG/
Romania's President Traian Basescu has apparently won re-election by less than a percentage point with 50.3% compared to 49.7% for Mircea Geoana. The difference of 70,000 votes moved Geoana’s party to challenge the outcome with claims of massive fraud. Basescu's victory sent Romanian stocks and bonds down as the uncertain vote may deepen the political crisis as the country seeks aid from international lenders.
