French biologist Pierre Jauffret, 72, died 14 days after he was attacked outside his home in a environmental preserve in the Amazon. Witnesses told police that a group of tourists got out of a bus in the nature preserve to relieve themselves. That sent Jauffret into a “rage” with Jauffret allegedly firing a gun twice at the tourists, who then proceeded to beat him.
