Polls show that President Evo Morales is likely to win a second term and control of Congress in Sunday's election. Morales has support of more than 50%, with a lead of at least 30% over his closest rival and enough to gain a first-round win.
Morales wants to start state-run paper, cement, dairy and drug companies and develop petrochemical, iron and lithium industries so Bolivia can export value-added products instead of raw materials. "We can't keep making the mistake we've made throughout history of ransacking natural resources, we must add value," said Morales.
