Facing an election 20 years after their revolution, Romanians find corruption and deprivation overwhelming freedom. Comparing their lives before and after, many Romanians are not happy. In a recent opinion poll, half said the country is worse off now than before 1989, while 40 percent said their personal lives are more difficult now.
