Architect Roman Rutkowski’s home was a rectangular bunker with an unpainted all-wood exterior, concrete floors and particleboard walls interior. He paid about $40,000 for it and a 4,563-square-foot lot in the highly desirable Krzyki neighborhood in south Wroclaw. The he went to work redoing it.
