Today coal is Poland's main source of energy and will be in the near future. Its reliance on coal also makes it a target of environmental groups. But Poland is also the leader of a coalition of European coal-burning countries that want the costs of CO2 emissions to be distributed fairly among wealthy countries as well as poorer ones.
