A 48-year-old Italian tourist was arrested in Fortaleza, Brasil, accused of publicly molesting his eight-year-old daughter. He is under guard in a hospital after falling ill when a judge rejected bail. He was arrested after bystanders told police he had been seen kissing and "caressing" the girl. New Brasilian laws crack down on child sex tourism and define "libidinous acts" with children under the age of 14 as rape, punishable with sentences of eight to 15 years.
